316Ti (UNS S31635) is a titanium alloy stabilized version 316 containing molybdenum austenitic stainless steel, which is more resistant to general corrosion and pitting/crevice corrosion. It also provides higher creep, stress cracking and tensile strength at elevated temperatures. The addition of titanium to 316Ti resists sensitization, thereby stabilizing the structure and preventing precipitation of chromium carbide. Therefore, the alloy can be used at a high temperature for a long time without impairing its corrosion resistance. 316Ti has the same sensitized corrosion resistance as low carbon version 316L.
